The 10 that Multiplied to 1,600 Disciples

Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”

I was soooo glad to finally visit the ladies’ class up in the Mountains. I had spent around 8 weeks teaching them how to disciple/teach others. When I left for the States, they asked “how long till you return?” I told them “I’m going to show up when you least expect it! Will you be ready, or am I going to catch you off guard?” They all laughed and told me, “You wont find us slacking!”

…so, four months later, I made a trip up the mountain unannounced. When I left, these ten ladies had around 20 women they were disciple-ing (at most). I had already prepared myself for the expected decrease to around 10, but I found a grand surprise. They have gone from teaching around 20 to teaching around 1,600 people in their community–mainly women and children! Not only are they teaching, but there is such a need for discipleship in their area that the men who are taking these ladies through BTCL Bible Courses have also started helping them teach these people.

Pictured above is one of the ladies who is teaching 200 children at a local school. The head principle of this school, John, took time away from work to meet with me and testify what has happened at his school since the children gave their lives to Jesus and started learning how to follow Him. John told me “I’m not having to cane them anymore!” He also said that the school’s average score on national exams has skyrocketed from  198 to 265. That means that the school has become 228th out of a school district of 700. John said there was a group of politicians that showed up in town one day and they were perplexed as to how such a school could have risen to the top 50% in such a short period of time! John says he absolutely believes it is because the children are praying every day for their school, and being taught the Word of God.

Let the Truth be told! Teaching Jesus in public schools works!
