The New School Bell

After students spent the whole breakfast break complaining that there wasn’t enough “time in the schedule” to complete their assignments, John thought he would help them “find time” by buying them an old school alarm clock. Unfortunately, his plan backfired a bit because the cheap thing is from China and the alarm setting doesn’t work unless you set it off… (more…)

220 Gave Their Lives to Jesus

I was overwhelmed with joy to visit the ladies class up in the mountains this past week! After being away three months in the States, I came home to find them teaching a total of 1,600 people–mainly children. Pictured above is a BTCP graduate who came each day while I was teaching the ladies to encourage them. He took notes… (more…)

Enjoying Fellowship

In Kenya, there is no separation of church and state. This means that Christianity is very much a part of their upbringing, and teachers are always open to letting missionaries come… (more…)

The Average School in Kenya

In Kenya, public schools are usually not much more than cinder-block buildings and mud huts. We visited the local school today and found over 600 children! It’s amazing to think such a small community could have so many children. I counted 6 teachers while I was there. It is amazing how every child behaves himself.

Mattaw Children’s School

School is out for the weekend, so all the children are busy playing today and catching up on chores. But, for the remainder of the week, they attend the school at Mattaw Children’s Village. The ministry believes it is important that each of these children receive an outstanding  education. So, instead of sending them to the private schools in Kitale, they built their own private school.… (more…)
