Prayers Needed

This is Elizabeth’s dad. At this point, we are trying to get Elizabeth home so she can receive 1st world medical treatment. She got sick again last night. They flew her to Nairobi last night, and she just arrived at the hospital there for tests. The objective is to get her well enough in the next day or two so they will allow her on the airplane to come home. The Mattaw folks are doing an amazing job trying to coordinate all this.

Elizabeth does not want to leave, and is arguing to “tough it out”, but at this point she has been sick going on two months, and is just not showing any signs of turning the corner. She is committed to returning to her work there as soon as she gets her health/strength back

Your prayers are needed that she will be strong enough to get on the plane for home, and upon her arrival that she regains her health/strength. Prayers of thankfulness for Bud, Kim, and Caleb who have been her Kenyan family, and are working to get her back home.

Prayers being sent of course. We know you don’t want to leave but you must take care of yourself first before you can help others

  3. LM says:

Oh, there are so many prayers. I know you can feel them, I want the Lord’s light to shine on you and make you strong. You can turn it all over to Him for a while, He will take care of you. Love Lilly

  4. Amelia says:

Light and love to you from me. I hope you get home and well soon.

Elizabeth, you have certainly gone beyond the pale in trying to stay in Mattaw, but the time has come for you to do as LM says and let the Lord handle it for you while you come home and recover all of your health. You will then be in a position to look at how you will handle the rest of your mission to Mattaw and, for that matter, the rest of your life.

You have been in our prayers since you left to go and we have expanded our circle to help you get home. I believe God has heard us and will be looking out for you. We don’t always understand His plan for us, but I have faith it will ultimately be for our good.

Chin up and we will wait to hear you have made it home. Godspeed to you.

  9. Debbie says:

God Bless you Elizabeth. May God watch over you and your family. I pray for you, your family and your Mattaw family for the strength to guide you each day with any hardships you may be facing.

  10. Lady Anne says:

We have you on our parish prayer list, so there’s an extra 100 prayers or so lifting you up. We understand that you want to continue your work at Mattaw, but you’re not going to be much help to anybody else if you don’t take care of yourself first. This is not selfishness – it is common sense.

  11. Gary says:

Our thoughts are with you and yours.
    All the best.

  12. Nora says:

God Bless you Elizabeth as you struggle with this health issue. You need to turn everything over to God and get your mind, body and spirit back. Then you will be able to return to your amazing ministry in Mattaw. You can’t help anyone if your health isn’t good. You are on our prayer list at church and of course I continue to hold you up in my prayers to God that he will bless you and keep you safe.
