Pray for Books

My house has been quite lively this past week. My class mates have been coming to my house to study. Unfortunately, we cannot find BTCP books anywhere! China, Asia, Africa…everywhere the missionary couple I work with have bought them in the past have either run out of copies or stopped printing them. This is very serious because we have over 100 new students starting classes this month and there are no textbooks. They are having a small shipment flown to them from the states, but it is extremely expensive and won’t be enough to provide every student with a new book. Please pray this issue is resolved soon.

In the meantime, I am letting my new class mates borrow my books so they are not behind in their coursework (pictured above). In Kenya, books are considered much more of a luxury than in America. People really value any book they own and take very good care of it. This is partially because of the scarcity of books. Even some physicians find themselves practicing medicine without any of the textbooks they had in college. Families often have a Bible that has been completely worn and tattered, but would never think of throwing it in the trash for a new one.

How can we send you a few books?

Thank you so much for your willingness to help Derrick. The best thing we can ask for right now is prayer. They are not something that can be purchased in the US unless you are citified as a teacher, and there is no promise that they would make it threw the mail. It get’s very complicated.
