More Baking and Talking About Jesus

It is becoming increasingly difficult teaching someone how to bake as a gluten free woman!  The temptation became nearly unbearable this weekend when Scovia and I spent the whole night up baking Clea Wootton’s famous tea cakes, but if my suffering as a late night gluten intolerant baker is for Christ, then I won’t complain.

Psalms 34:8 says “Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him,” and this is what I wish to teach Scovia, my new friend who wants to learn how to bake. I had a long talk with Scovia this weekend to see if she has any interest in joining BTCL and going through two years of Bible school. As I continued to answer her many questions about the Bible, I encouraged her not to join the school unless she is 100% sure God has called her to it. She seems enthusiastic about the idea, but I don’t want her to join out of a desire to please John and me. Please pray for all of us discernment. We only want her to join if she really desires a deeper relationship with the Lord and a lifetime of involvement in women’s ministry.
