Luke 19:37-40

“When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen: ‘Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!’ ‘Peace in heaven and glory in the highest’ Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, ‘Teacher, rebuke your disciples!’ ‘I tell you,’ he replied, ‘if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.”

It’s amazing, without the stones even crying out, how they reveal that beauty and splendor of their creator. I know these are not the same stones Jesus was looking at in Judea, but this was the verse that came to mind when I saw them.

The children in this particular village in Uganda know where to find large quantities of citrine crystals in the cliffs of the steep mountain chain. They always have them in their pockets ready to sell it to anyone who looks like a visitor.
