Good, Gooder, Goodest!

evangelism-pastor-pentacostal-holiness-ministry-I will never forget Pastor Adam from Mbeya. “Good, Gooder, Goodest!” was always this old baba’s response to a job well done. Although he knew better, he loved to make fun of his English. He and his church were very enthusiastic about BTCP (Bible Training Center for Pastors). By the time we left Tanzania on our way back to Kenya, he had started a new BTCP with 30 church leaders as students!

We trained 60 women from his church in Evangelism. 10 of these young ladies were on my evangelism team, and I fell in love with them. They were told to listen to me witness to the first person, and then go do exactly what I did. These girls followed my every foot step (their eyes intensely watching everything I did). Then, immediately they turned around and started witnessing. They shared the Gospel with every stranger walking down the street. I was so proud of them. In less than 30 minutes, this group of 60 women had 17 people give their lives to Jesus through one-on-one evangelism. Oh how I wish we could have spent the whole day doing nothing but evangelism! Just imagine how many people would have given their lives to Jesus! I started praying that God would open a door for me to go back and spend a few weeks with these women in Mbeya. I can only imagine what would happen if they started discipleing each other.

Later that week, Pastor Adam (who is really a father at heart) saw that I was really touched, so he told me “Elizabeth, you stay here and live with my family? Do ministry?” I laughed, and told him with a big smile on my face “Yes, I stay behind,” he laughed and said “OK, you stay here?” so I told him “I must finish Bible school, but I pray!” He said “OK.” Since then, I received a call from one of my friends in Tanzania and who told me “you know Pastor Adam is still calling me on the phone asking about when you are coming to visit them?” I laughed and told him “tell him I haven’t stopped praying!”
