New Chapter of Life

This week, we will be packing up and moving to Soroit, Uganda. This transition is one full of mixed emotions. While we are very excited to be shifting to a more remote area with a greater need of pastor training, I will miss all of my Kenyan family greatly. God has already provided us with a fully furnished three bedroom… (more…)

Kakamega

We have finished Foundation Course Teacher Training in Kakamega area. I have been going there every few weeks with a group of my friends to encourage local BTCP students to start a discipleship program for their community. Pastor Herman (one of the BTCP students) called me last night and said “Hello Missionary!” [Herman always calls me missionary because I wont let him… (more…)

All the activity has left some of my Kenyan friends wondering, what is Mormonism? Why are these nice young men in white shirts always showing… (more…)

Follow Up

When I first started living out my faith, I pictured evangelism, conversions, and baptisms as the most exciting part of outreach. My contemplation of  “follow up” was this grueling thing that came afterwards full of disappointments and missionary “burn out.” Truthfully, I could have never been more wrong! Follow up is the most exciting part of ministry. It starts with… (more…)

Planning 2nd Generation Discipleship

Please pray for Nandi Hills. Things are moving along! After reaching 100s of people during evangelism in the tea estates, 118 people successfully completed a year long discipleship course underneath the careful leadership of my students (and co-workers in Christ) pictured to the right. Now, some of those 118 students of my students are ready to join BTCP and/or start their… (more…)
