Turning Vegies into Meat

Now that Gavriella is old enough to travel around, the two of us got to go on a field trip! I’ve been cooped up in the house since my last trimester (we feared the bumpy roads might harm her), so it was a big day for the two of us. Our destination? Our student, James’, organic farming class of course. I… (more…)

Bible League Literacy Training

We are so blessed by Bible League, and the Wootton family, for inviting Scovia (and our good friend Ashton Nones) to a teacher training for the adult literacy course. Many people in our villages have a strong desire to read and write, and this curriculum uses the Bible to teach them how, making it a tool for evangelism and discipleship.… (more…)

Pictured below is the women’s BTCL (Bible Training Center for Church Leaders) class in Kapsokwony, Mt Elgon. These few ladies have done an excellent job… (more…)

The White Lady’s Pet Chicken

Above is the group of ladies who prayed that they would one day meet my mother. And oh, was it ever a joyful time when that day finally came–full of celebrations, singing, feasting, and many, many gifts. My mom spoke to them about spending time in the Word every day (while my dad was outside speaking with the men). The… (more…)

Do You Use Your Mirror?

Pictured below is the lovely Miss Doreen. This Sunday, I had her stand up in front of the church full of ladies and explained she would be getting married soon (which is true). “I asked them what must we do to make her pretty?” They had many ideas. So I told them, “lets pretend that she is preparing for her… (more…)
