The New School Bell

After students spent the whole breakfast break complaining that there wasn’t enough “time in the schedule” to complete their assignments, John thought he would help them “find time” by buying them an old school alarm clock. Unfortunately, his plan backfired a bit because the cheap thing is from China and the alarm setting doesn’t work unless you set it off… (more…)

The New Minisry Schedule

Now that we are under one roof with all of our students, we have begun studying full time. John has done a good job coming up with a tight schedule, and he is sticking to it. He keeps it taped on the shelf next to the Bible and doesn’t respond well to objections. It goes something like: 6:00 am, class… (more…)

Yoba Yogurt

The Waterfall Class

The little school on the ridge of the huge waterfall has begun! We met with six students this week, gave them their books, and opened class. We loaded them down with homework (50 chapters of Genesis and 5 pages of hermeneutics homework). Since then, we have been communicating with them. They are diligently working on their homework and reporting that they will need… (more…)

BTCP Kenya to BTCL Texas

We had a missions meeting dinner last night with my home church, College Hills. They came and visited us in Kenya last year.  Since then, they have started their own Bible Training Center for Church Leaders (B.T.C.L.) in their fellowship hall on Monday nights. I never knew that hosting them for a two week mission trip in Africa would result in… (more…)
