Be Prepared In Season and Out of Season

Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage–with great patience and careful instruction. 2 Tim 4:2

6:00 in the morning, we and a car packed full of BTCP students from Soroti were on the road when suddenly a huge, dark, square frame was blocking our visibility of the road. After stomping on the brakes and swerving around the tangled piece of metal, we saw it was the underside of a buss that had just flipped over. A body was still laying in the street (and had it not been for a police officer dressed in a bright white uniform jumping in front of the black underside of the buss and waving at us, we could have been laying in the road too). We stopped in the dark on the other side of the accident to discover a second accident. Much like us, a family on their way to school hadn’t seen the buss and nearly drove right into it. Luckily the driver swerved at the last second and they hit a  steep bar ditch at high speed without loosing control and flipping.  My husband and all the students piled out of the car and took advantage of the opportunity to minister to the need of those whom had been spared. Changing this family’s tire gave us an opportunity to ask, “If you were to die today, where would you go? Heaven or hell?” There is always joy in the midst of tragedies when you use them to witness to people about God’s love.
