Back in the Swing of Things

I went for my follow up appointment in Nairobi this week and everything went well. I am walking normal again and am able to go back to life as usual.

Being sick for a month has made me slow down and that has been a humbling experience for me. It has also provided me with a lot of time to read God’s word. I just finished the book of Ezra. I am amazed by God’s divine providence for his people. I love how Ezra gives the firsthand account of God stirring up the spirit of King Cyrus and then shows Cyrus’ decree as evidence to his spiritual awakening and understanding that everything he had gained was from God. Later, King Artaxerxes recognizes the Lord by saying “Whatever is commanded by the God of heaven, let it diligently be done for the house of the God of heaven. For why should there be wrath against the realm of the king and his sons?” Ezra also accounts that “…all whose spirits God had moved, arose to go up and build the house of the Lord which is in Jerusalem.” What an amazing thing it is to earnestly seek after something impossible, and then see it come to pass because it was in the Lord’s will and divinely laid on your heart! There is truly nothing too impossible for God.
