Answered Prayers

All I can say is praise God!

As stated yesterday I thought it would be January before any serious class work started, but then I received a call from the school at Mt Elgon around six something this morning. They had a teacher’s meeting and decided to start the Bible course now. And when they said now, they really meant it. They were expecting me to have a two hour speech prepared and be at the school (which is two and a half hours away) by three o’clock! Luckily my fear was overcome by excitement and joy, and I did have course work planned for them.

The Pictures below are of my class. It has grown a little bit since the last time I visited now that the strikes are over. I’ve’ put two pictures below so you can compare size. Thankfully my friend Katie will start teaching half of them next week.

WOW, Look at the size of that class. I don’t know how you do it but I am so impressed. Do all your students speak English or do you have a translator helping out? Years ago I was a Sunday School Teacher at the Baptist Church in Salem, NH. 3rd and 4th grade. I’d get so nervous sometimes before class so I can’t even imagine a class that size of High School kids. Latter I switched to teaching Kindergarten. Thats more my speed LOL. All the Best, Dave

They all speak English, but it is their third language, which means I have to fake a pretty heavy Kenyan accent for them to understand me. One of the teachers told me I had taught a much better lesson than last time because I pronounced everything correctly. I told him I must have been speaking in tongues. lol. It is quite hard to overcome a Texas’ accent, never the less sound like a Kenyan.

Is there any possibility that an outsider could sit in on one of your classes? That would thrill me beyond words! Lilly

lol, you are more than welcome. I already told Martin and Charles that their might be a day or two that you were with me instead of with them. That way you don’t overwork yourself.
